Forgiving Yourself might be what you need the most | Have you ever wondered why sometimes you felt this heavy burden inside your heart even though everything else was going well? You're healthy, you're happy, you're blessed and surrounded with good people around you, you get to eat good food that makes you happy but deep inside there's something else, that has been bothering you all along.
Uncertainty. Guilt. Loneliness. Sadness. Pain.
And whatever it is you think you're feeling in silence. This may have been buried deep inside which you never realized. Fail to realize or even worse, refused to admit that this has been going on for the longest time. You know it, but you deny it. You may not know it, but you just can feel it. But all in all, you may just not realize it until someone told you that you're it. You're having it. All those feelings.
It's Okay to Forgive Yourself
You may think you're okay, but the truth is you're not. As ugly or as stupid as it may sound, that's the ugly truth you're facing. You'll gonna have to face it whether you like it or not.
I realized this one thing about me. Myself. I am going through something that other people may not understand and even refuse to. I know there are people out there who completely understand. I know and am sure of it.
It's pretty disappointing each and every time I encounter those who said they can never understand the struggles I'm going through. But I'm glad because at least I know they're not for me to tell my story. It's even worst when there's this type of people who never really try to understand but act like they did.
I'm very sure some of us may have not noticed that other than having difficulty in forgiving others, the hardest was to forgive ourselves. Even if forgiving others was easy we may have not realized the one we couldn't actually forgive was ourselves.
I love reading this one book by Alan Hester.
Forgive yourself. We all get things wrong, so don't dwell on past mistakes. Look back by all means, but only for the purpose of looking forward. Remember, you did what you did because it was the best you were capable of at that time of your life, you didn't do it wrong because you wanted to. Learn from it and put in place whatever you need to do better next time.
What was written may and may not relate to you but I know there are still people out there who are struggling to keep on going and to forgive themselves for whatever they may have been done in the past. But this is life. It's the reality we have to face. No matter what happened, life goes on.
May by reading this small talk of mine (just to myself) ring a little bit of forgiveness from you towards yourself. Don't be too hard on yourself and take it easy for a while. As always, I'll see you guys at the next one.

DeleteCun post ni kena pada diri yang selalu salahkan diri saja. It's time to forgive myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure some of us felt the same without realizing it. I personally think that we deserve it, we all do and have to forgive ourselves in order for us to move forward and lead a better life.
DeleteWhat a nice read and an even nicer reminder. Thank you! And if you don't mind me adding, we can also forgive ourselves for not feeling good even when we don't know why. We can always simply embrace all of our feelings even those that we don't understand.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you enjoyed it. Yes, feel free to add and share your thoughts. I''d be really thankful and happy to read it. I'm sure the others will too as well. I agree with you. We have to acknowledge our feelings. That's really important.
DeleteNot an easy thing to learn but very rewarding. Thank you for this wise and wonderful post!

ReplyDeleteThanks to you too for loving this. I am delighted.
DeleteBetul benda paling susah adalah untuk memaafkan diri kita sendiri. Saya pun ada ketika tiba - tiba teringat benda lama lama yang kita tak terima perkara tersebut berlaku. Makin kita fikir makin kita tak happy
